Associate Professor John Rae is Head of School, School of Dentistry and Medical Sciences at Charles Sturt University

In the new Head of School, School of Dentistry and Medical Sciences, Charles Sturt University sought a leader with the ability to manage, support and drive change, building and nurturing relationships and synergies for a School with a diverse health focus.  Associate Professor John Rae was selected to provide academic leadership, to ensure the delivery of high-quality learning and teaching, impactful research and meaningful community engagement.

With several years at the University, including acting in the Head of School position and as Associate Head, School of Biomedical Sciences, John brings experience in multidisciplinary leadership.  Prior to joining CSU, John fulfilled various clinical and leadership roles within the NSW health care system, primarily in regional and rural areas.  With research collaborators including the Mid North Coast Local Health District, the Pharmacy Guild of NSW and Arts Out West, John’s main areas of scholarship are organisational creativity, and the use of art in research and teaching.
