Adjunct Professor. Stephen Cornelissen has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood commencing 6 June 2022. In this position, Stephen will be responsible for ensuring ongoing transformation and sustainable growth for the organisation.

Stephen presents with a background in the public, not for profit and private sectors across state and national level and demonstrates comprehensive experience in managing regional and national programs and in developing acute and rehabilitation hospitals, mental health, residential aged care and home and community-based services.  A proven leader committed to the organisations mission and values, Stephen is recognised as authentic and focused and as a leader who engages and supports colleagues.

Stephen has been engaged with Mercy Health since 2003 holding positions as General Manager and Chief Operating Officer prior to his appointment as Group CEO in 2011. Earlier in his career Stephen held leadership positions in New Zealand and South Australia.
