Dr Alana Maurushat is the new Professor Cyber Security and Behaviour at Western Sydney University
Dr Alana Maurushat is the new Professor Cyber Security and Behaviour at Western Sydney University. She brings international experience from roles in Hong Kong, France, the United States, Canada and Australia in the fields of intellectual property, information technology law and cybercrime/cybersecurity. Alana was previously a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Law and Co-Academic Director of the Cyberspace Law and Policy Community with the University of New South Wales, where she lectured in criminology, law and engineering/computer science. Alana currently researches and publishes in the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, information systems, law, criminology, business and economics, political science, media, information philosophy and psychology (neurodiversity).
Having lectured and researched on four continents, examples of Alana’s current collaborations include the United Nations and NATO. She has recently returned from a sabbatical at the Centre of Cybercrime at Simon Fraser University, where she also spent time at RAND and at the Artificial Intelligence Lab at the University of Arizona.
