Professor Craig Stockings is Head of School, Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at UNSW Canberra
UNSW Canberra at ADFA has been fostering a university culture within a defence environment for more than fifty years. Our team was delighted to partner with the University to identify two Heads of School, reporting directly to the UNSW Canberra Rector, to lead innovation and develop a strategic vision in alignment with Faculty and University goals in this unique setting.
With almost 30 years’ association with the School and University, and scholarly interests in the areas of general and Australian military history and operational analysis, and defence studies, Professor Craig Stockings was appointed to the key leadership role of Head of School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.
Most recently, Craig has been the Official Historian of Australian Operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Australian Peacekeeping Operations in East Timor at the Australian War Memorial, appointed by the Prime Minister. He also brings experience as an office within the third Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment. Craig has published a wide range of scholarly articles, book chapters and books and has obtained significant funding for his research.
