Professor Sally Totman is Head of School, School of Social Work and Arts at Charles Sturt University

Charles Sturt University offered the opportunity to lead a newly formed school, leading the delivery of high quality, impactful research and learning and teaching as Head of School, School of Social Work and Arts.  As the successful candidate, Professor Sally Totman will drive opportunities for growth, building and nurturing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring meaningful community engagement and encouraging high quality research impact.

With expertise on the history, politics and international relations of the Middle East and North Africa, and with a strong track record in academic leadership, Sally joins CSU from Deakin, where she has worked in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences for over 15 years in leadership positions including Deputy Head of School and Chair of a number of high-level university and faculty committees.  Sally held previous positions at Champlain College, Vermont and Macquarie University, where she was Deputy Director of the Centre for Middle East and North African Studies.  She is the co-founder of the Middle East Studies Forum.
